Last weekend, I went to see Jeff Koons: A Retrospective at the Whitney Museum. It is one of the most visually stimulating exhibitions I’ve ever seen in my life. The pieces were grouped by previous shows and the free audio guide with commentary from the artist himself definitely helped put all into context. Among my favorites were Split-Rocker (Orange/Red), Hulk (Organ), and of course, Balloon Dog (Yellow). I WISH WISH WISH I could have a sculpture like Balloon Dog (Yellow) in my house. Basically I want to be like Pharrell Williams and chill next to priceless contemporary art everyday. A Koons piece would be my first choice—a real life representation of a brilliant Koons idea, stunning in its technical perfection. Take a couple of hours and visit this retrospective, your eyes (and mind) will thank you!
