For our weekly girls brunch, we tried to grab a table at the ever-so-hot Dimes, but to no avail. It was SO cold on Saturday, too cold to wait outside. After running over to The Fat Radish, which was somehow booked the ENTIRE DAY (“you could try waiting for cancellations…”), we stumbled upon Skál. Skál is super low-key with a makeshift heating system and bar stools with duct tape holding their upholstery together. With that sad, it is surprisingly CHIC. By the time we sat down, Renee had already spotted the resident açaí bowl on the menu. I, veering toward the more unhealthy side, ordered banana pancakes topped with thin, caramelized sheets of smoked raspberry and a side of thyme and goat butter foam. Adrienne stuck with her brunch classic—the omelette of the day. The food was an excellent cure to an otherwise cold and snowy day. Dimes, we’ll see you in the summer!
