Darryl Westly holds his nephew Ari and sits with his sister, Sir & Madame owner Autumn Merritt.
You may remember Darryl Westly as one of the artists of my much-beloved (and sweet!) painting. Well, it seems creativity and style run in the family! Yesterday I went with him to his sister’s clothing store on the North Side of Chicago.
It’s official–Sir & Madame is the perfect place for fashionistas with Chicago soul.
I felt very comfy, cheap, and chic in my newly certified “Chicago” outfit: oversized chunky H&M sweater, leggings, and Steve Madden boots. Heels are not always easy in snow, but these are pretty manageable–although, I guess a car does help!
The displays were a mix of new and vintage merchandise. Seriously considering coming back and getting those riding pants. Autumn was wearing a pair. They’re lovely in black and have stirrups–perfect for winter wear with boots!
Speaking of boots…the store had plenty of hot (and reasonably priced!) styles for men and women.
I loved the idea of using a vintage scale as a hat display. After touring Sir & Madame, all I wanted to do was open a store of my own, but I doubt I’d have the creativity to make it as lovely as this one!
Sir & Madame is located at 938 North Damen in Chicago.
