One Sweet Holiday

Clockwise from left: Baked by Melissa, Laduree, and Vosges.

When it comes to myself and Renee, the prettiest desserts get eaten first. Yes, packaging is just as important as taste! And when the holidays come around, we just can’t help ourselves. Laduree arrived on the Upper East Side this year, and Renee has been known to wait in line more than an hour to get some tasty macaron treats. I had the pleasure of tasting Laduree in Paris (see here!). The shops are so grand and ultra-chic there… I was glad to see a little Laduree lighten up the Upper East Side!

My favorite sweet shops? William Greenburg for cookies, Vosges for chocolate, and Baked by Melissa for cupcakes! Not only are they absolutely delicious, but their packaging is to die for. William Greenburg has an old market feel with its red and white tiles. Vosges covers all of its goods in their gorgeous signature purple color—chocolate with a side of whimsy. And Baked by Melissa? It brings out the tie-dye hippie in me.
